The late David Bowie will be recognized at this year's Grammy Awards ceremony by one of his biggest fans, 2016 nominee Lady Gaga. Her tribute, to be presented at the awards ceremony on Feb. 15, will be overseen by musical director Nile Rodgers, who produced Bowie's chart-topping 1983 smash Let's Dance.

"He is a true, true artist," Gaga said of Bowie just after his recent death. "And I don't know if I ever went, 'Oh, I'm going to be that way like this,' or if I arrived upon it slowly, realizing it was my calling and that's what drew me to him."

Lady Gaga's "Til It Happens to You," co-written with Diane Warren, is nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media this year. This will be her fourth appearance on the Grammy Awards telecast.

"We had already booked Lady Gaga on this year's show, but when David passed — almost in a single moment — we knew we had to change direction," Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich says in a press release. "We immediately spoke and agreed that she should be the one to honor David. She's perfect for it. So I reached out to Nile and, before long, we were on our way to creating what we believe will not only make a great Grammy moment, but one befitting of David."

Previously announced performers who will join Lady Gaga during the broadcast include Adele, Carrie Underwood, Kendrick Lamar and the Weeknd. LL Cool J will host the ceremonies, to be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, for the fifth year. More performers will be announced before showtime at 8PM ET on CBS.
