A Charter Spectrum Communications employee was going about his job when he found himself caught in a feud between neighbors in Lakeville.

Backing up a bit in the story, in June 53-year-old Michael John Jackson was given a restraining order that prohibits him from harassing his two neighbors. According to Lakeville police, this feud had been growing since one neighbor shot Jackson's daughter's dog in December.

On July 30 police were called to Jackson's home on Linch Path in Lakeville about an incident involving a shotgun. The victim this time was the previously mentioned Charter Spectrum Communications employee. He was called to fix a cable line that they believe was cut by Jackson. According to KSTP, the complaint says that Jackson approached the employee and the employee asked if he cut the cable with his lawnmower and Jackson stated he cut it on purpose. Jackson then told the employee to leave, but he said he had a right to be there to repair the cable.

The report then says as the argument continued the employee called 911, Jackson went to his house and came back with a shotgun and the Charter employee left the area in his van until police arrived.

Police arrested Jackson and he was charged with with threats of violence, damage to energy transmission/telecommunications equipment and violating a restraining order. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and $10,000 in fines on the threats charge; up to five years in prison and $10,000 in fines on the property damage charge; and up to 90 days in prison and $1,000 in fines on the restraining order charge.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 21.
