The Faribault Flames play the St. Patrick Irish for the State A Championship in age 35 and over baseball Sunday, Aug. 23.

The first pitch is scheduled for 7:30PM, and it would be terrific to see Bell Field as packed as it was for the Lakers' extra-inning win over New Market for the Region 4C Championship in Amateur Baseball on Friday night.

There are two other games being hosted at Bell Field on Sunday.

At 2:30PM, the St. Paul Senators face St. Michael, and at 5PM Coon Rapids plays the Lakeville Lobos.

Faribault has gone undefeated in the tournament with wins over Lakeville, Hamel and St. Paul. The Flames' oldest player, Rick Vogel, three months shy of 57, nearly went the distance on the hill in Faribault's 5-4 win over St. Paul on Saturday to advance to the title game.

Their second-oldest player, Dave Custer, could get the start in the title game.

A leisurely day at the ballpark sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday. I hope to see you at Bell Field.
