It’s summer in Minnesota, and that means it’s time to gather up the kids and hit the pools. They’re a great way to cool off, and a family friendly way to spend a summer afternoon.

  • Faribault Family Aquatic Center

    In Faribault the place to go for a fun afternoon is the Faribault Family Aquatic Center. Built in 2002, it's located at the west end of the Rice County Fairgrounds. It opens Saturday, June 3, and remains open each day, weather permitting, with a variety of fun things to check out like drop, flume and elephant slides; a zero-depth pool; interactive toys; water basketball; plenty of shaded areas with deck furniture; a concession stand; changing rooms and more.

  • River Springs Water Park

    In Owatonna you can treat the kids to an afternoon of adventurous fun at River Springs Water Park. Located on the north end of town at 3065 St. Paul Road, this outdoor water park features a tube slide, body slide, lazy river, climbing wall, lily pad walk, zero-depth entry, an activity pool, concession area, volleyball and locker rooms with showers and opens at 4PM Friday, June 2.

  • Old Memorial Pool

    In Northfield pack the kids up and head to the Old Memorial Pool for an afternoon of relaxation and water fun. This aquatic recreation area features a toddler pool, zero-depth entry, a 50-meter section, diving board, a half-court basketball court, a climbing wall, a concession stand and tons of deck and grass space to accommodate everyone. The Old Memorial Pool opens on Monday, June 5, and can be found at 801 Seventh St. E. in Northfield.

  • Medford Pool

    Cool off at the Medford Pool. Perched on the southern edge of Straight River Park in downtown Medford, you can take a dip in this below-ground pool, dive off the diving board and enjoy a brisk swim in the deep end starting Friday, June 3.

  • Kenyon Municipal Swimming Pool

    In Kenyon the Municipal Swimming Pool opens on Monday, June 5, with an official Kick-Off Party on Saturday, June 10, starting at 12:30PM with prizes throughout the day. This summer cool-off oasis can be found at 304 First St., Kenyon.
