If you’re a fan of live music, seeing bands rock out against each other, or you’ve been meaning to check out the local music scene here in Rochester, you may want to keep Saturday, September 9th open. That’s because it marks the first-ever “Rochester’s Local Music Showdown” at the fairgrounds from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The cool thing about this event is that the lineup was chosen by the public, with 5 bands vying for $500 cash, a free music video, and a two-hour recording session. That likely means these bands are definitely going to give it their all, so this already looks pretty fun.

It also looks like the Showdown will have a food truck and a beer garden from Ground Rounds Brewing Company, because music should never be experienced with an empty stomach or a dry mouth. That’s my rule anyway.

The lineup looks like a mix of a few different genres:

  • The Bando Bunch (Hip-hop)
  • Embrace The Ending (Metal)
  • Second Story (Garage Punk)
  • Under The Pavilion (Garage Rock)
  • Zootboys (Alternative Hip-Hop)

Tickets are pretty affordable at $12 a pop. Who’s going? This looks fun.
