Higher temperatures mean melting snow, and the realization that I haven't quite grown up. When I was a kid, my friends and I were always drawn to the huge iced-over puddles, creeks and new streams created by the melting snow run-off.

It's one of the things that I still feel drawn to even as an adult.

Luckily, I've managed to get control of my desire to stomp and jump on the ice until I break through, but I still like to dam up little streams and check out the creeks as they become swollen with water.

Today, my wife and I were walking my daughter's dog and we went to see what the creek behind the middle school looked like. There was quite a bit of water running through the culverts and down the iced-over falls and rapids. I'm pretty sure that if I were a kid now, one of us would've come up with the bright idea to take a snow-tube down the rapids.
