Last night my wife and I attended one of the final performances of Lerner and Loewe's Camelot at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. After very well-received run that started on September 30, 2016, this play is scheduled to end on the 25th of this month.

I was lucky enough to come into enough tickets to take several family members for an evening of delicious food and a splendid bit of theater. Like most of their productions at the Chanhassen, this play had a traditional storyline along with a good mix of music, comedy and drama.

Every time I attend a play at the Chanhassen I am amazed at the quickly changing yet simple sets that create the illusion of rooms, towns and forests. The musicianship of their orchestra is impeccable and helps carry the story throughout the entire performance. This was an enjoyable play but it was a little more serious than their usual fare, so i would have to honestly say that it wasn't one of my favorites like Beauty and the Beast, The Music Man or Jesus Christ Superstar but still well worth going to see.
