As I mentioned in Monday's blog, Def Leppard is returning to the Twin Cities this Wednesday and they're bringing Tesla and REO Speedwagon along with them. So for the next couple of days I'm listing off my top five favorite singles by each of the bands. Yesterday I covered Tesla, today I'll run down my favorite REO Speedwagon hits.

By the way, in celebration of this night of rock at the Xcel Energy Center, Power 96 will be playing blocks of rock from each of the artists at the top of every hour starting at 9AM this Wednesday until Zach Martin takes over with Ultimate Classic Rock at 7PM. Listen for blocks of rock from REO, Tesla and Def Leppard this Wednesday from the station that rocks, Power 96!

    Ridin' the Storm Out (live)

I had to lead off with this one. Taken from their live album, You Get What You Play For, you can literally feel the energy of one of their shows when you listen to this tune. Despite how well-known this song is, it only made it to No. 94 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 back in 1977.

    Keep Pushin'

This single was released from their 1976 effort simply titled R.E.O. and was their sixth studio album. "Keep Pushin'" failed to get any traction on the charts but is still a classic rock station staple.

    Tough Guys

Taken from the best-selling record of 1981 and probably my wife's favorite REO album, Hi Infidelity, this tune charted at No. 25 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks.

    In Your Letter

Here's another single from their massive selling Hi Infidelity. This one climbed to No. 20 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

    Keep the Fire Burnin'

This single came from their 10th studio album, Good Trouble, which was released in 1982 as a follow up to Hi Infidelity. It performed well on the charts, reaching No. 7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
