Minnesota DNR Streams Live ‘Eagle Cam’

Did you know that, according to the Department of Natural Resources, Minnesota has the third-highest population of bald eagles? We are behind only Alaska and Florida within the United States. Currently the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has a live Nongame Wildlife Eagle Cam that you can watch 24 hours a day online. 

In 1984, the bald eagle was placed on the first endangered species list in Minnesota and had been on the federal list of threatened and endangered species since 1978. By 1987, Minnesota had surpassed some of the goals outlined in the Northern States Bald Eagle Recovery Plan. In 2007, the bald eagle was removed from the federal list of threatened and endangered species.

This live stream of a bald eagle nest began filming on November 16 and, according to the YouTube page, "this eagle camera is brought to you by the MNDNR's Nongame Wildlife Program, which helps over 700 species of Minnesota wildlife thrive." The footage will be constantly changing, so check back often to follow along!
