On Sunday the Scott County Sheriff's office closed the bridge over the Minnesota River in Jordan. They also announced that the Minnesota Department of Transportation would close the Highway 41 Minnesota River bridge at 9 a.m. Tuesday due to flooding.

In more of a detailed release, MnDOT said Highway 41 itself would close between Highway 169 near Shakopee and Chaska Boulevard in Chaska until the water recedes and any damage to the road can be repaired. The release said drivers are advised to find alternate routes, including Highway 101.

Drivers in Burnsville could expect delays while crews close the right lane on Interstate 35W between Cliff Road and Black Dog Road beginning at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to build a dike meant to help prevent flooding on the freeway. All lanes are expected to reopen by 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Scott County Sheriff's Department also announced that Blakeley Bridge (Scott County Road 1) had closed as well and in the City of Carver they said  the Main Street Bridge over Spring Creek in the community's downtown would close on Wednesday.

Cresting of the Minnesota is nt expected in Jordan til Friday or Saturday.

Remember when it comes to flooded roads, go around. Don't drown.
