It seems that fall is really here. The NFL season kicks off tonight, with the purple playing on Sunday. Baseball is getting ready for the October Classic, and the NBA and NHL's players are all coming back to get ready for training camp. Specifically players for the Minnesota Wild are coming back to a brand new practice facility that features state-of-the-art technology and this Faribault made product, SageGlass!

The  Wild practiced at TRIA Rink at Treasure Island Center during the second half of the NHL season last year, but they weren't allowed downstairs as there were delays in finishing the locker rooms. While the team originally hoped to move its space full time last season, delays forced that move back until now.

On the north side of the rink is floor-to-ceiling SageGlass -- formulated by a Faribault-based company with the same name -- which can change its tint based on the amount of daylight and the sun's heating power. How cool is it that we have a part in every Wild practice?

The Wild aren't the only ones who get to use TRIA Rink at Treasure Island Center, TRIA Rink is considered a community asset with six public locker rooms and seating for 1,200. Up to 5,000 hours of ice time will be available to the public each year, which is expected to bring more than 600,000 people to downtown St. Paul each year. Tenants include the Wild, Hamline University men's and women's hockey teams and the Minnesota Whitecaps of the National Women's Hockey League.

So the next time you take in a Wild game either on TV or at the Xcel Energy Center know that there is a little bit of Faribault helping this team towards its goal of a Stanley Cup.
