The No. 1-rated and No. 1-seeded and defending state champion St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders face Minnehaha Academy in the championship game at Target Field on Monday.

St. Cloud Cathedral defeated Marshall 5-2 and the Minnehaha Academy Redhawks downed the Rochester Lourdes Eagles 6-2 in semifinal action Friday at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.

The Crusaders are going for their ninth state title and sixth since 2001. They are 37-16 in state tournament action. This is the second state appearance for Minnehaha Academy. In 2013 they lost two games and were done.

The title tilt is Monday at 3PM.

In Class A competition Friday, defending state champion and top seed New Life Academy of Woodbury edged Red Lake County 4-3 and Brandon-Evansville defeated Lewiston-Altura 5-0 to advance to one semifinal game, and Springfield outlasted Kimball Area 7-6 in 12 innings while New Ulm Cathedral dominated Deer River 6-1 to set up the other semifinal.

The semis will be played at 10AM and 12:30PM Saturday at the Mini Met in Jordan. Consolation bracket games in Class A will be 10AM and 12:30PM at Chaska Athletic Park, with the championship at 3PM and the third-place game will be 3PM at the Mini Met.

The Class A title game will be Monday at noon at Target Field in Minneapolis.
