As rock's economic model has shifted its focus from album sales to ticket revenue, the number and quality of concert recordings has skyrocketed.

Here's your chance to review some of the year's best, then decide which becomes the New Live Album / Video of the Year in 2016's Ultimate Classic Rock Awards. Click through the above gallery as we make our case for each nominee, then cast a vote for your favorite below.

Of particular interest this year is a pair of tribute concert releases, one devoted to Jerry Garcia and another to George Harrison – each featuring lineups dotted with key collaborators and passionate fans. Both Iggy Pop and Heart played the Royal Festival Hall, but in wildly divergent settings. Heart collaborated with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, while Pop was onstage with members of Queens of the Stone Age.

Las Vegas continues to be a hot spot for huge classic-rock events, as illustrated by live projects by Kiss, Styx and a reunited Santana. Elsewhere, Ritchie Blackmore made an unexpected return to rock, while Motley Crue said a raucous goodbye.

If you’re torn between two or more candidates — or just want to be sure you do everything you can to make sure your favorite new live project wins — come back every hour to cast your ballot again and again. Voting for each of the 2016 Ultimate Classic Rock Awards categories ends on Jan. 9, 2017, at 11:59PM ET. As always, the winner will be decided solely by reader’s votes, so don’t be shy about hitting those polls — and may the best new live album or video win!
