The Owatonna Huskies took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission and never looked back in a 7-0 win at Four Seasons Arena on Tuesday night.

The Huskies outshot Faribault 18 to 6 in the first period, 8 to 4 in the second and 13 to 5 in the third for a 39 to 15 total.

Owatonna added a goal in the second period and tacked on three more in the third.

Faribault went 0-4 on the power play while Owatonna was 2-5 on the power play.

Owatonna goalie Ryan Johnson notched the shutout while Falcon Adam Vos suffered the loss in net.

In other Big Nine games Tuesday, league-leading Northfield had their way with Rochester Century 8-1. The Raiders peppered the net 35 times and Century had 12 total shots on goal. Grant Sawyer had two goals for the victors and Ryan Bielenberg got the win in net.

It was Northfield's seventh straight win and they now have a four-point lead over Rochester John Marshall. The Rockets have not lost in the conference and have won nine straight games.

Elsewhere in the Big Nine, Red Wing edged Albert Lea 4-3 and Austin blanked Winona 6-0.
