On October 29th, phones all over Owatonna were going off, there was a BOLO alert (be on the lookout) for Martin Tyler Lampkin, age 21. He was described as dangerous, possibly being armed. Owatonna Police were attempting to pick him up on a warrant, and he fled. With the assistance of Owatonna PD, Northfield PD, Minneapolis PD, the South Central Drug Investigative Unit, and the FBI, Lampkin was apprehended on November 9th in Minneapolis.

As an update to this story, and we really hope the end of this chapter altogether, for the sake of his victims, Lampkin was sentenced in Court Thursday. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison for first-degree burglary and third-degree assault with substantial bodily harm for his role in the May 28th home invasion in Owatonna. Lampkin pleaded guilty to those charges in September as part of a plea agreement.

The Honorable Joseph Bueltel offered Lampkin an opportunity to address the Court before handing down his sentencing, and he turned to address one of the victims. There were some words exchanged and a woman (later identified only as Lampkin's fiancee) started to curse and yell at the victim. After the judge restored order, he allowed Lampkin to address the Court only.

Lampkin is currently under the Minnesota Department of Corrections jurisdiction, however, at the time of this story, I am unable to confirm where he will be incarcerated. For more details, you can check out this story from Owatonna People's Press.
