If you follow Minnesota prep wrestling, you know that this was a pretty big weekend where some of the best teams from not only Minnesota but the country come to compete in Rochester. Owatonna finished in the top-10 this weekend, 7th, which is a pretty good showing considering the talent that travels to the Med City. It was an all Minnesota top-10 this year as Simley a nationally ranked team in numerous online publications won with 204.5 points.

The top-10 scoring teams from the Minnesota Christmas Tournament were:

1 Simley 204.5
2 Kasson-Mantorville 199.5
3 Shakopee 176.0
4 Willmar 175.5
5 Apple Valley 166.5
6 Scott West 164.5
7 Owatonna 157.0
8 Fairmont 147.5
9 Stillwater 131.0
10 Waconia 127.0

Rochester wasn't the only town holding a tournament this weekend. There were several right here in Southern Minnesota, like the Kenyon-Wanamingo Dave Mauseth Invitational in which the host school Kenyon-Wanamingo took the top honors with the team earning 240 points. Your top 5 teams from the K-W Dave Mauseth Invite were:

1. Kenyon-Wanamingo 240.0
2. Waseca 189.0
3. Dover-Eyota 186.0
4. Burnsville 121.0
5. Medford 114.0

Northfield also opened up its doors this weekend for the Northfield Larry Severson Invite. And much like Kenyon-Wanamingo they didn't want to lose at home. Northfield won after scoring 211.5 points. Faribault who attended the Larry Severson Invite finished in 9th place with 97 points, Cannon Falls finished in 12th with 54 points. The top-5 finishers by team were:

1 Northfield 211.5
2 New Prague 177.5
