The Owatonna High School girls' hockey team earned a season split with Mankato East with a 3-0 victory Tuesday night on Dudley Otto Rink at the Four Seasons Centre. Junior goalie Asia Buryska was tested in the closing minutes with the Cougars on the power play but held on for the shutout, stopping 22 shots. The loss ended Mankato East's six-game unbeaten streak. Sophomore Sydney Hunst converted a power play chance 3:30 into the second period with assists from Abby Vetsch and Maylynn Prokopec. Junior Chloe Schmidt ended the scoring with a dazzling short-handed marker at 8:56 of the third period. She circled in the East zone and skated through several player before snapping off a shot.
