Last night phones all over Owatonna were going off as the Rice and Steele County Citizens alerts were giving everyone the same information: "From Owatonna PD, be on the look out for a black man wearing grey sweatshirt and grey pants. He is wanted in connection with police activity in the area. He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see anyone matching this description, do not approach him, please call 911."

Well that is enough to get people concerned, and then hearing the helicopters going last night as they were searching for him meant that a lot of people, myself included, did not get a whole heckuva lot of sleep. This morning, the Owatonna PD released more information, including the reason why they were searching for this suspect. His name is Martin Lampkin, aged 21, and he is wanted on felony warrants, including  including 1st Degree Burglary. You can read the entire release here, and see a picture of the suspect. If you see him, or know of his whereabouts, you are encouraged to call 911. To sign up to get these alerts, click here, it is a free service.

"The Owatonna Police Department was assisted by the South Central Drug Investigative Unit, Cannon River Drug & Violent Offender Task Force, Steele County, Rice County, the Faribault Police Department, the Northfield Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol/Flight Wing."
