When you're out and about trying to get those great buys on Black Friday, or any time you're Christmas shopping, please remember those children who are less fortunate and might not have any presents under the tree this year. All it takes to help out is to purchase and donate one new, unwrapped gift to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program that runs October-December. They then distribute the toys to needy boys and girls within the communities in which the toys were donated. Please contact the Rice County Social Services or Public Health Nurse if you're in need of toys for your children or you can go online at Faribault-MN.ToysForTots.org, as the deadline to sign up to receive them is this Wednesday, November 30.

You can also help out by participating in the Toys for Tots Modified Scotch Doubles Bowling Tournament on Saturday, December 3, at J & J Bowling Center in Faribault. Give Doug Truman a call at (507) 339-5437 if you'd like to find out more. The Marine Corp Reserve is also hosting a Toys for Tots Breakfast on Sunday, December 4, at the American Legion Post 43 in Faribault. The cost for adults is $6 in advance, $8 at the door. Children ages 6-13 are $4 in advance, $6 at the door. Children younger than 5 eat free. They'll be serving up eggs to order, pancakes, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, juice, milk and coffee.

Doug Truman from Toys for Tots will be joining me this morning around 8:35AM and we'll find out more about this wonderful program together on the Power 96 Morning Show.
