I took a day off yesterday but I loaded up a Power 96 Cool One for you ahead of time. I still have to step back and recap Tuesday's featured song first, which was Days of the New, "Touch, Peel, Stand," the lead single from their self-titled debut released on June 3, 1997. The Cool One was a No. 1 hit for them on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and the album placed at No. 57 on the Billboard 200.

Wednesday's Cool One was one of my favorites from the late '90s, Monster Mganet's "Space Lord" from their fourth studio album Powertrip. The single peaked at No. 29 on the U.S. Billboard Alternative Songs chart and No. 3 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and helped expose them to the mainstream listening audience. The album, released on June 16, 1998, made it to No. 97 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Please make time to check out this afternoon's Power 96 Cool One at 4:35PM brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault.
