Wednesday's Power 96 Cool One was England Dan and John Ford Coley's "Love is the Answer" from their 1979 album Dr. Heckle and Mr. Jive. The single is a cover of a Todd Rundgren and Utopia song originally released in 1977 on his Oops! Wrong Planet album. Although Rundgren's version didn't chart, England Dan and John Ford Coley's version did rather well for them, peaking at No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

Yesterday's Cool One came from Autograph. Everybody remembers them for their 1984 hit, "Turn Up the Radio," but can you name me another single that charted from them? Neither could I, so I did a little research and found out that "Blondes in Black Cars" made it onto the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock chart at No. 38 from their second studio album, That's the Stuff, which they released in October 1985. The album made it to No. 92 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

So there you go, a quick recap of the past two days of Cool Ones. Join me at 4:35 this afternoon for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
