Last Friday's Power 96 Cool One was the title track from my favorite Alice Cooper album "From the Inside." Released in November of 1978, this concept album was based on some of the people Cooper encountered while spending time recovering from his alcoholism at a New York sanitarium. It was his eleventh studio album and went to No. 60 in the U.S. while yesterday's Cool One didn't chart at all on the singles charts. The album's power ballad "How You Gonna See Me Now," released as the lead single made it to No. 12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

As the Godfather of Shock Rock, Alice Cooper likes to incorporate horror themes and macabre imagery in the settings and scenery for his shows. I've attended a couple of his shows and they definitely rock and, although they sometimes seem a little schlocky and campy, I enjoyed them.

Join me at 4:35PM today for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, on Power 96.
