On Friday's installment of the Power 96 Cool One, I featured a band made up of members from the most recent Thin Lizzy line-up who recorded a new album as the Black Star Riders. The tune I chose was "The Killer Instinct," which is the title track of their sophomore attempt, released on February 20 of this year. The album made it to No. 15 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart.

I thoroughly enjoyed this whole album, as well as their debut, All Hell Breaks Loose, both of which have very a Thin Lizzy quality about them. It's the kind of music you pop into the CD player when you're going to driving a while and you want to get there fast, if you know what I mean.

Listen at 4:35PM for today's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault, which features a group whose lead singer's father has been an influential figure in the world of music for more than five decades.
