Brownsville Station was the band I chose for last Friday's Power 96 Cool One. Better known by most for their 1973 hit "Smokin' in the Boys Room," I thought it was time to showcase another great track from them off their 1977 self-tilted release. The tune I picked was the third track from the album, titled "Lady (Put the Light on Me)," which was six positions shy of breaking into the Top 40, coming in at No. 46 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Unfortunately the record itself failed to chart in the U.S. and only one other single, "Martian Boogie" managed to chart at No. 59 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After looking up the availability of this album on Amazon.com it doesn't appear that this album has been released on CD and it's doubtful it ever will be with the decline of CD sales over the years. If you have a copy of it in your vinyl collection I suggest you hold onto it. On Amazon it's going for $80-$94 for a very good to new condition copy.

Don't miss the next Power 96 Cool One at 4:35PM this afternoon, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
