I was perusing through my music collection yesterday, trying to pick out a Power 96 Cool One, when I happened across a CD from the supergroup made up of Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Chad Smith. Of course I'm talking about Chickenfoot, a band with a name and logo that are a disparaging term for the peace symbol. Hagar, Anthony and Satriani had previously worked together under the name Planet Us in 2002.

Chickenfoot's first official performance happened in Vegas in February 2008. Their first album came out more than a year later on June 4, 2009. Their self-titled debut did well, coming in at No. 4 on the U.S. charts. Yesterday's Cool One, “Soap on a Rope” was one of two songs that were released to their website before the release of the single “Oh Yeah.” Of the three songs, “Oh Yeah” charted at No. 21, “Soap on a Rope” didn’t chart at all and their other single, “Sexy Little Thing,” came in at No. 40.

This afternoon’s Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly’s Auto Parts, comes from a band that contains a former member of B.T.O.
