The Power 96 Cool One that I featured yesterday afternoon came from singer/songwriter/guitarist Chris Rea. The single I featured was the title track from his 10th studio album, The Road to Hell. The song itself is a two-part song and makes up tracks one and two on the album. Released in 1989, it reached No. 10 in the UK but failed to chart in the U.S., while the album topped the charts at No. 1 in the UK and made a showing at No. 107 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Interestingly, while the album starts off with "The Road to Hell (Parts 1 and 2)," it wraps up with the song "Tell Me There's a Heaven." Despite its poor showing on the charts, this is still a strong album, which I recommend you check out if you get a chance. Chris Rea has a very distinctive and powerful voice that catches your attention right from the opening vocals and holds it with his magnificent guitar work and lyrics.
