I kicked this week's Power 96 Cool One off with an early nineties band you might not remember called Cry of Love and their single "Peace Pipe" off their 1993 debut release Brother. The single made it to No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock Track chart. Two other singles from this album also charted on the Mainstream Rock Track chart, "Too Cold in the Winter" at No. 13 in 1994 and "Bad Thing" at No. 2 in 1993. The album scored a No. 13 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

Cry of Love didn't record many albums as a band. Formed in 1989, they released a second album entitled Diamonds and Debris and the single "Sugarcane" which made it to No. 22 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock Track chart. The band went their separate ways shortly after this 1997 album's release.

Today on Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, I check out a band whose banner keeps popping up when you open our website. This band is made up of a motley crew of musicians that have been in a variety of bands throughout their career with a lead singer, that in my opinion, has never gotten the recognition he deserves. Find out who this band is at 4:35 today.
