Monday's Power 96 Cool One was Danzig's "She Rides" from their self-titled debut album released in August 1988. The album peaked at No. 125 on the U.S. Billboard 200 but the single failed to make its mark on the charts. That's pretty much the way it went for most of Danzig's releases. The albums would chart, some doing better than others, but the singles wouldn't make any kind of a showing. The only singles that managed to do anything were "Mother," which topped out at No. 43 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 17 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and "Cantspeak" at No. 40 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart and No. 39 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Nonetheless, this heavy metal rock band out of Lodi, New Jersey, has put out some great albums and no collection of music should be without a couple of his records. I would recommend any of his first three albums, which include Danzig, Lucifuge and How the God's Kill.

There's a Kenyon-Wanamingo vs. Triton baseball game at 4:30PM today with a 4:15PM pregame, so this afternoon's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, will be an hour earlier at 3:35PM.
