Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One came from Deep Purple's 13th studio album, Slaves and Masters. This album featured ex-Rainbow vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, who would be replaced by the returning Ian Gillian for their next album, The Battle Rages On. Slaves and Masters charted at No. 87 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and the single that I featured, "King of Dreams," came in at respectable No. 6 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

By the way, this album's line-up of band members, consisting of Turner, Jon Lord, Ian Paice, Ritchie Blackmore and Roger Glover, was called the Mark V line-up. They only recorded this one album together.
