Tuesday's Power 96 Cool One was British rockers Def Leppard's "Rock Brigade" from their debut release On Through the Night, released in March 1980. The Cool One didn't garner them a spot on the charts here or abroad but three other singles did manage to chart. "Let It Go" peaked at No. 34 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, while "Wasted" made to No. 61 and "Hello America" topped out at No. 45 in the UK. The album went to No. 51 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 15 in the native country.

Although On Through the Night was their first full studio album, they had initially released an EP titled The Def Leppard E.P. previous to this album in January 1979, which contained three songs; "Ride Into the Sun," "Getcha Rocks Off" and "The Overture." All three songs were rerecorded and included on other albums.
