Power 96 Cool One Recap: Diamond Dogs

Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One song, in memory of David Bowie, was the title track from his eighth studio album, Diamond Dogs. The single takes place in a post-apocalyptic New York and involves Bowie's latest character Halloween Jack. This track failed to chart here in the U.S. but did manage to reach No. 21 on the UK charts. The album fared much better, peaking at No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and hit No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart.

It seems that this week is going to go down as one of losses in the entertainment world, as we lost another fine entertainer, Alan Rickman, today. He will be remembered for his roles as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter series of movies, Hans Gruber, Bruce Willis' nemesis in Die Hard, or his portrayal of the Spock-like character and actor Alexander Dane in Galaxy Quest, or his many other characters that he brought to life on stage and screen. His family reported that he succumbed to cancer earlier today.
