Dire Straits' "The Bug" was Wednesday's featured Power 96 Cool One. I plucked it from their sixth and final studio album, On Every Street, which was released in September 1991. This album came out six years after their popular Brothers in Arms. The band ended up disbanding a few years later in 1995 and lead singer Mark Knopfler has enjoyed a solo career since then. "The Bug" peaked at No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart but only No. 67 on the UK Singles chart. Meanwhile, the album made its way to No. 12 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 1 in the UK and many other international charts.

This afternoon's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault or online at www.kellysautosalvage.com, features a Swiss heavy metal band and the song that really gained them greater attention in the early '80s, due to the heavy rotation of the video for it on MTV.
