Don Henley was my choice as yesterday's Power 96 Cool One artist. I tracked his No. 2 Mainstream Rock Tracks hit "I Will Not Go Quietly" from his 1989 release End of Innocence, which featured the backing vocals of Guns N' Roses lead singer Axl Rose. I chose this song because even though it performed well on the charts, it hasn't been overplayed and still has a fresh sound about it. Other singles that made it onto to the top 40 from The End of Innocence include "The Heart of the Matter," "The Last Worthless Evening" and the title track. "In A New York Minute" also fared well on the charts, coming in at No. 48. The album itself made it to No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was his best-selling album and also his last solo effort until Inside Job, which came out in 2000.
