Yesterday I shined the spotlight on my favorite Faster Pussycat song, "Babylon," from their self-tilted debut album released on July 7, 1987. The album peaked at No. 97 on the U.S. Billboard 200 while the single "Babylon" failed to get on the charts. The two other tracks they released as singles, "Bathroom Wall" and "Don't Change That Song," also failed to chart, but "Bathroom Wall" was featured on the documentary The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years along with another tune, "Cathouse."

Their big break wouldn't come until 1989 when their second album, Wake Me When It's Over, climbed the charts to No. 48 on the U.S. Billboard 200, helped by the popularity of "House of Pain," which was their highest charting single, coming in at No. 28 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Faster Pussycat took their name from the Russ Meyer movie, Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! Meyer also directed the video for the track "Don't Change That Song."
