On Thursday I featured a band on the Power 96 Cool One that could have been a supergroup but never really became super. Despite that, I really liked the music from Fastway, a British metal band initially made up of ex-Motorhead guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke, ex-UFO bassist Pete Way, ex-Humble Pie drummer Jerry Shirley and singer David King. Clarke and Way combined parts of their names to come up with the group's moniker. Unfortunately Way was still signed with Chrysalis Records and couldn't get out of it and eventually ended up playing for Ozzy Osbourne. He never did play on any of Fastway's records.

The single I chose to spotlight was "Say What You Will" from their self-titled May 1983 release. If you like good, straight-ahead, raw rock 'n' roll, pick this CD up and give it a listen. You won't be disappointed.

Please join me for this afternoon's Power 96 Cool One at 4:35PM, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
