Last Friday's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts, came from Fury in the Slaughterhouse and their 1994 U.S. release, Mono. The track I selected, "Every Generation Got Its Own Disease" made it to No. 21 on the Billboard U.S. Mainstream Rock Chart and No. 13 on the Billboard Alternative/Modern Rock Tracks Chart. Unfortunately, this was their biggest hit in the U.S., although they did a little better in their native Germany. A few other tracks worth checking out on the album include the singles "Radio Orchid," "When I'm Dead and Gone" and "Dead Before I Was Born."

Fury in the Slaughterhouse, from Hanover, Germany, formed in 1988 and broke up in 2008 after about 18 albums. They did get together for a one-off show at the Expo Plaza Festival in Hanover on June 8, 2013.

Join me at 4:35 this afternoon for this week's first Power 96 Cool One featuring the strong persuader, a five-time Grammy Award winner, blues guitarist and singer all rolled into one.
