Thursday's Power 96 Cool One was Northern Irishman blues and rock guitarist Gary Moore's "Out in the Fields." This single came from his breakthrough album, Run for Cover, released in September 1985. The album made it to No. 146 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 12 on the UK Albums Chart. "Out in the Fields" topped out at No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart and peaked at No. 3 on his native homeland, Irish Singles Chart but failed to make an appearance on the U.S. charts.

Run for Cover is filled with appearances of fellow musicians - Glenn Hughes from Deep Purple, Paul Thompson from Roxy Music and ex-Thin Lizzy fellow bandmate, Phil Lynott. On "Out in the Fields," Moore and Lynott trade-off vocals in a song about the religious strife that has plagued their native country. Lynott also covers vocals on "Military Man."

Please join me this afternoon at 4:35PM for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault.
