Thursday's Cool One came from a real cool band from Palo Alto, California, known for their eclectic blend of different styles of music and their lengthy instrumental jams while performing in concert. I'm talking about the Grateful Dead and the tune I picked was "The Music Never Stopped" from their eighth studio album, Blues for Allah, released on September 1, 1975. The Cool One made it to No. 81 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 while the album peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200.

The Grateful Dead are a band that I've always wanted to see in concert, but it would have to be when they performed in the '70s. The stories I've heard from others who were actually there make it sound like it was one helluva party.

Check in tomorrow afternoon at 4:35PM for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault or find them online at www.kellysautosalvage.com.
