The Cool One topped the charts at No. 30 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 18 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. The album, released on April 12, 1989, peaked at No. 9 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 200. This album is filled with quite a few other hit singles such as "Mista Bone," "House of Broken Love" and "Once Bitten, Twice Shy," their highest charting song on the album, hitting No. 6 on the U.S. Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
