Yesterday's Power 96 came from the one off supergroup HSAS, or Hagar Schon Aaronson Schrieve, from their only album release, Through the Fire. The album, released in May 1984, was a live recording from two shows they performed at a venue in San Fransisco called The Warfield. The crowd noise was stripped away and guitar over-dubs were added for this semi-live effort and only one official single was released, a cover of Procul Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale," which reached No. 94 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Even though they manage to cover it quite well, I still chose to spotlight my favorite pair of tracks from the album, "Valley of the Kings/Giza."

The band was made up of Sammy Hagar, Montrose and solo work; Neil Schon, Santana and Journey; Kenny Aaronson, various artists; and Michael Schrieve, Santana. Basically just another one of many side projects for both Schon and Hagar.

Today's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, features a very outspoken rocker. Find out who it is at 4:35PM today on Power 96.
