The latest Power 96 Cool One featured yesterday was Joe Satriani's "One Big Rush" from his third studio album, Flying in a Blue Dream. The single landed at No. 36 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The album performed well for Satriani, peaking at No. 23 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and it picked up a nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 1991 Grammy nominations.

This 15-time Grammy nominee started out as a guitar instructor for several guitarists that would go on to fame with their own respective bands, including Kirk Hammett of Metallica; Steve Vai, guitarist for David Lee Roth and Whitesnake; and many others. Satriani also is a member of Chickenfoot, along with Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith. In 1996 he founded G3, a concert tour that normally features three guitarists. He also endorses his signature line of JS Series guitars for Ibanez.
