The Power 96 Cool One rocked your Wednesday afternoon with "Locked In" from British heavy metal rockers Judas Priest's April 1986 release, Turbo. This was their 10th studio effort, was their first album to use guitar synthesizers and went to No. 17 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 33 on the UK Albums Chart. Released in May 1986 as the second single from the album, the Cool One peaked at No. 25 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and features twin leads played in unison during the guitar solo. Other singles released from Turbo include "Turbo Lover" and "Parental Guidance." "Turbo Lover" made it to No. 44 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart but failed to gain any traction on the UK charts. Tipper Gore and the organization Parents Resource Music Center went after Judas Priest in the mid-'80s because of perceived obscene lyrical content of one of their songs. Halford, Downing and Tipton responded with "Parental Guidance," which got a lot of airplay on MTV along with the other singles from Turbo.
