I thought Kansas would be a good artist to start the week off as my Power 96 Cool One on Monday. I picked out the single "Got to Rock On" from their seventh studio album, Audio-Visions. This was to be the last record to featuring the original Kansas line-up until they regrouped for Somewhere to Elsewhere in 2000. It peaked at No. 26 on the U.S. Billboard 200. "Got to Rock On" only managed to position itself at No. 76 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The big single from this album was "Hold On," which was their fifth Top 40 hit which peaked at No. 40 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1980.

This afternoon's 96 Cool One will be an hour earlier at 3:35PM so that Power 96 can bring you a very special sports presentation. The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights will be hosting the Bethlehem Academy Cardinals for an afternoon of softball action with Gordy Kosfeld at 4:30PM, pregame at 4:15PM. Today's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, features a band from Palm Desert, California.
