Yesterday I spotlighted a band heavily influenced by AC/DC, so much so that at one point they weren't taken very seriously, as critics felt they were just imitators. They weathered and probably enjoyed that comparison and ultimately crafted their finest album, 1983's Headhunter, featuring yesterday's Cool One, "Screaming in the Night." As their biggest hit to date, this track made it to No. 21 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The other singles off that album were, "Eat the Rich" at No. 33 and "Stayed Awake All Night" at No. 31 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. As their seventh studio album it peaked at No. 25 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and their 1984 follow-up album, The Blitz, made it to No. 36 on that same chart and featured the single "Midnite Maniac" and a pretty good cover of Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz."

Please join me for today's appropriately titled Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault. It comes your way at 4:35PM this afternoon on Power 96.
