The Power 96 Cool One for Wednesday was Little Feat's 1990 hit "Texas Twister" from their ninth studio album, Representing the Mambo. This Cool One proved to be their second No. 1 hit on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart after their previous 1988 No.1 hit, "Hate to Lose Your Lovin'." Two other tracks from the album made it onto the Mainstream Rock Tracks charts: "Woman in Love" at No. 21 and "Rad Gumbo" at No. 23. The album went to No. 45 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was the final effort recorded on Warner Bros. Records, their label for the past 20 years.

Little Feat is another one of those bands that manged to eventually carry on and find new-found fame even after they broke up and their original lead singer, Lowell George, passed away during his attempted solo career. Representing the Mambo was only the second studio album released after those tragic events.

Please join me for this afternoon's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
