Power 96 Cool One Recap: Metallica

Have you ever had one of those days where you felt really good when you woke up but then you got to work and your mood suddenly slid a little south? That was yesterday for me and in those instances thank god for Metallica, especially their earlier work. Listening to their pre-radio friendly albums always seem to help relax me. That's why I went with their single "Creeping Death" as the Power 96 Cool One from their second studio album, Ride the Lightning, which they released on July 27, 1984. And like I said, this single came out before they were the radio darlings they are today, so it failed to show up on the charts, but because of their quickly growing fan base the album performed well and made its mark at No. 48 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and, for some reason, the Finns really liked it because it topped out at No. 9 on the Official Finnish Charts.
