If you were listening last Friday, you were probably surprised by the Motorhead track that I decided to play for my Power 96 Cool One. Not so much because I played Motorhead but that the track I chose, "Whorehouse Blues," was very laid back. Usually they have a sound similar in the style with one of their better-known tracks, "Ace of Spades."

From their 2004 release, Inferno, "Whorehouse Blues" features acoustic guitar played by all three members, with lead singer Lemmy Kilmister even throwing down a few riffs on harmonica. The song has a very country-blues feel about it and is a huge departure from their normal heavy metal sound.

If you have an idea for a future Power 96 Cool, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts, and you're a Power 96 VIP, please feel to nominate it here:

This afternoon I serve up a very smooth Power 96 Cool One. Be listening at 4:35PM to find out what it is.
