Power 96 Cool One Recap: Neil Young

Friday's Power 96 Cool One featured Neil Young's "Unknown Legend" from his 20th studio album, Harvest Moon. Released in 1992, the album is considered sort of a sequel to 1972's Harvest, and many of the artists that appeared on the earlier recording returned to play on this one. It went to No. 16 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and received the 1994 Juno Award for album of the year. The single, "Unknown Legend," peaked at No. 38 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

I've got to be honest, this is a song that I remember playing to death when it originally came out. I thought I could probably live my life fine without ever hearing again, once it finally slipped from regular rotation on the radio, but it's also one of those songs that's managed to get stuck in my head every now and again. So, after not listening to it for years, I gave it another spin and found that I really like it. So I thought I'd share it with the Power 96 listeners during the Cool One.
