Pat Benatar was the featured artist on yesterday's Power 96 Cool One. I played her single, "We Live for Love" off her platinum-selling debut album, In the Heat of the Night. Released in August 1979, the album made it to No. 12 on the U.S. Billboard 200. "We Live for Love" peaked at No. 27 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The other breakthrough hit from this album was "Heartbreaker," which went to No. 23 on the Hot 100. This album also featured many cover tunes that Benatar gave her own personal touch including The Alan Parson's Project's "Don't Let It Show," John Cougar Mellencamp's "I Need a Lover" and Sweet's "No You Don't."

This afternoon's Power 96 Cool One, brought you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault, features an English heavy metal band founded by ex-Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake guitarist John Sykes that released only two studio albums. Make sure you join me at 4:35PM to find out the name of the band that I spotlight today.
