Paul McCartney's early solo work is a treasure trove of Cool Ones and although Power 96 already tracks some interesting deep tracks from him, there are still plenty left to choose from. Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One was a little-heard track called "Letting Go" from the May 1975 album Venus and Mars, McCartney's first Beatle-less effort to be released worldwide on Capitol. It peaked at No. 39 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 41 on the UK Singles Chart. Venus and Mars was his fourth studio album and topped out at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart as well as several other countries around the globe in 1975.

This afternoon's Power 96 Cool One brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault, comes from an American heavy metal band whose music is inspired by a mix of sword and sorcery fantasy and Norse mythology. Have you guessed who they are? Join me at 4:35PM to find out if you're right.
